A recent situation arose in another state that has relatives and close friends of a U.S. Army veteran quite worried.
The 30-year-old woman served as a U.S. Military Police Corps officer and is said to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. She is currently engaged in a child custody battle with the father of her two children, who is serving on active duty at this time. The former soldier’s friends and family say she’s a wonderful mother who would never abandon her children.
However, police have stepped in to help find the woman after she called a friend, saying she was feeling down about her current child custody situation, then supposedly went out for a jog, taking nothing with her. Her brother told investigators that does not seem right because his sister always took her dog with her when she went for runs. He said he and his father believe something terrible might have happened to her, who has not been seen since. A postal worker reported seeing her at the local post office and opening a piece of mail that appeared to contain bad news because her demeanor changed when she read it.
The woman apparently missed a scheduled visitation with her two kids, something else her father said is very out of character. He now has temporary child custody and says the family is doing its best to protect the children from knowing that their mother is missing. Investigators are piecing together clues and evidence regarding events leading up to the U.S. Army veteran’s disappearance in the hope of finding her safe somewhere. A Michigan court has the final say regarding child custody issues throughout the state involving complicated circumstances like this one; concerned parents or grandparents may reach out for legal support as needed.
